Rubiks - Layered Method

1. Make a Daisy

Description: Make a Daisy on the Up side of the cube. 4 White Edges and 1 Yellow Center
Orientation: Yellow Center Up

To flip a White Edge piece from Side to Up...

Algorithm Orientation: White Edge to the Right Side

2. Make a White Cross

Description: Align each White Edge's Side color with it's matching Center. Double rotate that Side so the White Edge is Down
Orientation: Yellow Center Up

No special algorithms

3. Solve the White Corners

Description: Align each White Corner along with it's corresponding other colors Corners
Orientation: White Center Up

To remove an incorrectly positioned White Corner from Up...

Algorithm Orientation: Bad corner to Front Right Up

To move a White Corner from Down to the Front...

Algorithm Orientation: Bad corner to Front Right

If the White Corner is in the bottom Left...

Algorithm Orientation: Bad corner to Front Left

If the White Corner is in the bottom Right...

Algorithm Orientation: Bad corner to Front Right

4. Place Edges in Middle

Description: With the Yellow Center facing UP, rotate the Top of the cube until a Side Edge tile lines up with it's corresponding Center Tile. If the Top face of the tile is Yellow, move on to another tile. Otherwise, determine if the tile needs to move to the Right or Left and follow the corresponding algorithm below.
Orientation: Yellow Center Up. Tile to be moved in Front

To move a Tile Left...

Algorithm Orientation: Moving Tile to Front Forward Top

To move a Tile Right...

Algorithm Orientation: Moving Tile to Front Forward Top

5. Make a Yellow Cross

Description: Align the cube to one of the 3 positions shown below (center only, line and reverse "L") and perform the algorithm. Then realign the cube and perform the algorithm again. Do this until the cross is formed.
Orientation: Yellow Center Up. See image below

To align the Cross...

Note: This may have to be done several times. Make sure to realign each time

6. Orient Yellow Corners

Description: Align the cube to one of the 5 positions shown below (0 corners, 1 corner or 2 corners) and perform the algorithm. Then realign the cube and perform the algorithm again. Do this until the Yellow Corners are oriented to the Top.
Orientation: Yellow Center Up. See image below

To orient the Corners...

Note: This may have to be done several times. Make sure to realign each time

7. Position Yellow Corners

Description: Headlights
Orientation: Yellow Center Up

To position the Corners...

Note: This may have to be done several times. Make sure to realign each time

8. Position Yellow Edges

Description: Finished edge to back, otherwise doesn't matter
Orientation: Yellow Center Up

To position an Edge Clockwise...

Note: This may have to be done several times. Make sure to realign each time
Important Note: If the Tile needs to move Counter-Clockwise, reverse the direction of both U movements below (U becomes U')
